About the Practice
History of the Practice
Oakwood Women's Centre was founded in 1985 to provide sophisticated specialty care to the women of Round Rock and the surrounding Central Texas area. As the community has grown, so has our medical practice. Although the Centre, its staff and physician members have increased numerically through the past two decades, our mission of caring has not changed. Our belief in the importance of the physician-patient relationship is central to our philosophy.
Our seven physicians are all certified by the American Board of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. We all continue to provide a full range of obstetrical and gynecologic services. We do not employ physician extenders in the practice.
Our spacious office, occupying the entire 3rd floor of the 511 Oakwood Medical building, has been redesigned recently with our patients’ comfort and privacy in mind. We provide in-house ultrasound and bone density imaging studies. Most laboratory services are also provided on-site.
Our Philosophy
We look forward to sharing our knowledge, interest, and enthusiasm about Obstetrics and Gynecology with you. We hope this website will provide valuable information to assist you on your first visit regarding our philosophy, our physicians, medical information, and general office questions. If you are an established patient in our practice, we thank you for allowing us to care for you and are grateful that we have had an opportunity to share in your lives.
Our philosophy: To provide compassionate, educational, and excellent health care in Obstetrics and Gynecology
We know that you are aware of the continuing changes in recommendations regarding women's healthcare. We look forward to answering your medical questions and providing the most up to date medical and surgical options available.
We feel that we provide our best patient care by being part of a group of physicians. We have complete trust and faith in our partners, as evidenced by the female partners within our group choosing fellow partners as their own physicians. Group practice gives us the ability to provide around-the-clock medical care. This is especially important in the field of obstetrics where immediate availability is so important.
We want our patients to realize that we truly enjoy what we do and take pride in our diverse backgrounds and the individuality we apply in practicing the art of medicine. Our goal is for our patients to know and feel that they have received honest, excellent and the most up-to-date medical care available.

Inpatient/Outpatient Care
Our physicians provide obstetric and gynecologic care at St. David’s Round Rock Medical Center, which is conveniently located next to our office. The original hospital built in 1983 has undergone $100 million in improvements since
joining the St. David's system in 1996. Today, Round Rock Medical Center is a 177 bed full-service acute care facility with dedicated women’s services at the Women’s Center.
The Women’s Center provides a comfortable, friendly, and supportive environment for our patients. Obstetric care focuses on satisfying women’s individual needs before, during and after childbirth. The addition of a level II neonatal ICU has extended the capability of the facility to preterm infants and those with special needs. This is the highest level of care available for newborns in Williamson County. Postpartum and postoperative care is provided in the dedicated Women’s Services wing of the hospital.

Our physicians also provide outpatient surgical care at Oakwood Surgery Center, located beside the Emergency Room entrance to Round Rock Medical Center.
In-Office Procedures
Our practice is now offering office-based procedures. Procedures done in our office have many advantages over surgery done in the hospital setting. Benefits include:
- Lower cost
- Time efficiency
- Reduced anesthesia
- Faster recovery time
- Comfortable setting
Procedures that may be done in the office include sterilization, such as Essure, and treatment for heavy periods such as endometrial ablation. Please note, not everyone is a candidate for in-office surgery; our physicians will consider each case individually.
Ultrasound Services
Ultrasounds in pregnancy as well as gynecologic ultrasounds are provided by our trained sonographers. DVDs as well as pictures are usually provided at the time of obstetric ultrasounds.
We are now offering 3D/4D ultrasounds to expecting mothers! These ultrasounds are scheduled between 28 and 30 weeks of pregnancy (7 months). A DVD and color image will be provided at the time of the ultrasound. The cost of the 3D/4D ultrasound is $100.00.
